Receiving Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders can be stressful and exciting if those orders bring you to the state of Wisconsin; welcome! Wisconsin is a midwest-friendly state known for its four distinct seasons and urban and rural communities. Water is a big part of our culture. Surrounded by Great Lakes Michigan and Superior and the Mississippi River, we are also home to over 15,000 lakes. You will find a glacier-carved landscape, hardworking business culture, and welcoming main streets. While we get teased a bit about our reputation for good beer and great cheese, we’re proud of both and looking forward to sharing it all with you.
A PCS MOVE TO WISCONSIN
The WDVA has County and Tribal Veterans Service Officers trained to assist Service members, Veterans, retired Service members, and their Families find and applying for military/Veterans benefits under federal, state, and local laws. All their services are provided free of charge. In Wisconsin, the County Veterans Service Officers play a critical role in the veteran’s advocacy system and are often the initial contact in the community for veterans’ services. Each county in Wisconsin has a CVS Officer committed to providing a vital and efficient system of services and advocacy to veterans, dependents, and survivors.
The Wisconsin National Guard has 10 Soldier & Family Readiness Specialists (S&FRS) in 8 states. Our S&FRS team supports Soldiers and their families throughout the military life cycle with information, resources, and referrals (IRR) to community-based resources to address quality-of-life issues and concerns. The team can assist service members, veterans, retirees, military families, and community partners with IRR in federal, state, county, and local community-based programs. This page has a list of S&FRS contacts by region.
